Disability Sensitivity Awareness Orientation, isinagawa sa Batangas Province

Sa pangunguna ng mga ahensya ng Department of Education, at United States Agency for International Development, katuwang ang Resource for the BLIND Inc. (RBI), isinagawa ang Disability Awareness Orientation for Focal Key Persons noong ika-20 hanggang 22 ng Nobyembre 2019 sa Batangas Country Club, Lungsod ng Batangas.

Ang 3-day workshop at orientation, na may temang “Gabay: Strengthening Inclusive Education for Blind and Deaf Children,” ay dinaluhan ng mga focal persons ng bawat lungsod at bayan ng Lalawigan ng Batangas, mga kinatawan ng Federation of Persons with Disability of the Province of the Batangas Inc., sa pangunguna ng pangulo nitong si Ginoong Nelson Adante, at mga kawani ng Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), kabilang sina Ms. Norlie M. De Guzman, Social Welfare Officer III, at Social Welfare Assistant Cristina B. Ebe ng Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO).

Naging speakers sa workshop sina Mr. Ronel del Rio, Housing and Homesite Officer ng Provincial Administrator’s Office Housing Division, at Ms. Rosemarie Alonzo, Mr. Hubert Hernandez, Ms. Mila Wayno, Ms. Chesa Rosemares, Ms. Shev Payo at Dr. Yolanda Quijano ng RBI.

Kabilang sa mga tinalakay ang legislations on children with disabilities, impact and barriers of visual and hearing impairments in children, disaster management at basic courtesy and communication, at ang tamang paggabay sa blind deaf at deaf-blind persons.
