Army Turns Over Projects to Gov. Vi

Gov. Vilma Santos Recto, in a symbolic turn-over ceremony last Dec. 14, 2009 at the provincial auditorium, formally accepted from the Philippine Army’s 51st Engineering Brigade, through the 51st Engineering Brigade Chief of Staff, Col. Nazario Lira, Civil Military Operations and OPTEMPO projects completed in Batangas Province for 2009.
The Team Army Engineers reported the completion of a farm to market road in San Nicholas, where almost 7 kilometers of road aimed at developing the coastal side of the Pansipit River was undertaken; repair and rehabilitation of Bojo Bridge in Rosario, Batangas; repair of water system in Brgy. Dagatan in Taysan, Batangas; and, the construction of a foot bridge in Bacao, also in Taysan, Batangas.
564th Engineering Batallion commanding officer, Lt.Col. Medardo Clarito and Lira presented a symbolic construction equipment to Santos Recto, who, in her message, thanked the “men in uniform for its socio-economic programs that show that they are community development partners, and not just military and security personnel.” - Vince Altar
